The library of Sikkim Government College, Namchi was established in the year 1995.The College Library is the soul of the institution and it acquires, processes, preserves and disseminates information to the user community with the motto of empowering knowledge. It has an extensive collection of books, reference materials for satisfying the academic and research needs of the students and faculty.
It has well stocked and collection consists of more than 12,000 books. Collection is continuously updated with the changes in curriculum. The library hasprocured soul software and also working for the membership of N-LIST (a programme of INFLIBNET). Thelibrary is enabled with internet connectivity. The library is central and common to all the Academic activities of the college. Library is running under CCTV surveillance which ensures security to its resources. The college library is situated in the middle portion of the first floor of the college in which Books Charging and Discharging counter available for readers, a huge lending hall holds the lending materials with reading space for students and separate reading room for faculty members are given. Apart from that Librarian’s office shares the Reference section of the library.
