A short program titled “District Level Neighborhood Youth Parliament” was organized by Nehru
Yuva Kendra (NYK) Namchi at Sikkim Govt. college Namchi in collaboration with SGC Namchi
and Sikkim Alpine University. The program was organized to celebrate India’s G20 presidency
for 2023.
The event kickstarted with a speech and a video presentation on G20, its goals, and its significance.
An inter-college Quiz competition was held with student participants from SGC Namchi, Sikkim
Alpine University and DIET Namchi. A short talk on LiFE was presented by Ms. Sharon Rai
(B.Com student, SGC Namchi) who was recently selected to represent our state in Youth
Parliament, New Delhi. A mock parliament was also held to enact the workings of the parliament.
Cultural dance performances from the participating colleges were also presented.
The event was graced by Dr. Deepak Tiwari (Principal, SGC Namchi) as the chief guest, faculties
from SGC Namchi and Sikkim Alpine University, students from different departments of the
collaborating institutions, and the volunteers of NYK Namchi
