Namchi; June 23rd, 2023: An annual fest of Sikkim Government College, Namchi was inaugurated today by the Principal of the college Dr. Deepak Tiwari in attendance of all the teaching and non-teaching members of the college with huge participation of students. The student fest ably supported by the members of the student representative council members was named, “Abhyudaya- Arise, Awake, Achieve”.
The inaugural session of 7 days college fest took off with an inaugural match of a volleyball tournament and debate competition between the students of the college.
Motive of fest ‘Abhyudaya’ at Sikkim Government College, Namchi
The student fest was organized with the motive to encourage the students in extracurricular activities and to encourage participation in various events as part of confidence-building measures. The intention is also to bring about the spirit of togetherness and the essence of solidarity among the student community.
Activities for ‘Abhyudaya’
As such, there will be an array of events in different categories for the students to showcase their talents in the fields such as sports, cultural, academic, and entertainment events. The interdepartmental volleyball competition, half marathon, badminton competition, debate competition in both English and Nepali language, photography competition, traditional fashion show, face painting, declamation, creative writing competition, extempore, poetry competition, quiz, singing competition, dance competition, beatbox, etc. will be conducted throughout the seven days event.
Therefore, the closing ceremony is scheduled on 3rd July 2023, which will be graced by Chief Minister Shri. Prem Singh Golay and other invited dignitaries from various departments of the state.
