The Ananta Poetic Prism competition, held on April 30, 2024, for the semi-final round and on May 10, 2024, for the final round at the NBBGC Tadong Auditorium Hall, was organized by the Ananta Theatre Club, NBBC Tadong, with the aim of nurturing literary talents among students. The event saw the participation of students from various schools anf colleges who showcased diverse range of poetry styles and themes in th le competition

Good news for SGC Namchi ! Dr. Bikash Sharma Assistant professor cum Care Taker Officer (CTO) of NCC as been promoted to Associate NCC Officer (ANO) of NCC in the rank Lieutenant. He has been sworn as ANO by Commanding Officer Colonel D.D Pandey in presence of all NCC staffs at 4SK NCC Battalion yesterday. He has been selected as a ANO from the Direct Commission by Director General NCC New Delhi for his C Certificate during his college days and for his selfless dedication hardwork and passion towards NCC. Further he has been nominated for PRCN course training in Officer Training Academy Kamptee Maharashtra next year .

In an illustrious ceremony held at Assirvad hall, Raj Bhawan in Gangtok, five NCC cadets of Sikkim Government College, Namchi, were recognized for their commendable achievements in the realm of National Cadet Corps (NCC). The event was graced by his Excellency Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, the Governor of Sikkim, who presented the esteemed Governor’s Medal 2023 to these promising young talents.

On 30th  April 2023, an Inter College Scholastic Fest event was organized by the Inner Wheel Club of Gangtok, where our college participated with full enthusiasm. A total of 22 colleges in Sikkim participated in the said event. Our college competed in events such as quizzes, poetry recitation, creative writing, mad ad fun, extempore, treasure hunt, and Antakshari and in which our college secured 4th position in creative writing and Antakshari.

The event was a great opportunity for our students to learn and grow, and we are proud of their performance. We hope to participate in similar events in the future and continue to excel in various fields.

All Sikkim Student Welfare Forum (ASSWF) organized state-level inter-college debate competitions. The preliminary 2nd round of the competition was held at Law Government College, Gangtok where the Sikkim Government College, Namchi won the debate against Harka Maya B.Ed college.
The topic for the debate was “loan/credit create entrepreneur” where SGC Namchi

college students Junior Under Officer Sher Bahadur Dahal (3rd Semester Political Science Honours) participated in RDC 2023 held at DG NCC New Delhi from 1st of Jan to 29th of Jan 2023 on the occasion of Republic Day. He represented West Bengal and Sikkim Dte as a Best Cadet SD Army Wings where he had to compete with Cadets from other 16 Directorates from all over India.

Under the direction of the Chief Electoral Officer, Election Department, Government of Sikkim, an Inter-College Quiz at the district level was conducted on the theme ‘Electoral Processes’  On 21st November, 2022 at the Office of the District Collector, Namchi.

10 students (2 students per team) from Sikkim Government College, Namchi, participated in the programme. Both the winners and runners-up duo were from Sikkim Government College, Namchi. The winners were Nancy Lama and Zasmeen Praveen Ansari, 5th Semester, Department of Sociology and the runners – up were Shristi Rai and Binita Subba 5th Semester, Department of Economics.

NCC Cadet Sagar Chettri (Botany Honours, IV semester) of SGC Namchi have successful completed 25 days Basic Mountaineering Course from Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter sports at Pahalgam Jammu & Kashmir. Course comprises of Knots & Hitches, Climbling, Rappling, Base making, Bouldering, zipline, Ice crafting. During this course he also got chance to volunteer as a Rescue Team during flash

NCC cadet Chumit Lepcha (Lepcha Honours, 4th Semester) of 1 Sikkim Girl’s BN of SGC, Namchi had participated in Adventure course at NIM (NEHRU INSTITUTE OF MOUNTAINEERING) Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand.
